A short 6 1/2 hour flight to Ramstein AFB in Germany. I can see some hills and trees in the distance, but have to stay stuck up in the transit terminal so this is all I get for the Germany experience. Next stop, somewhere in Turkey. 

At the USO at the Baltimore airport, getting on the plane soon for Germany. Lots of people ready for the plane, I got 2nd row, nice to be a civilian so far! Met up with 2 others from the course I did in New Jersey, so starting off the trip with people I already know. Time to head to the plane, next stop Ramstein!

2:15 pm and sitting here at the San Antonio airport, waiting for a flight in to Baltimore for the night. After a year and a half (since first applying for the job), I'm finally on my way. Feels good, but not yet real, as it's been a long time here training, and a few false starts to this trip. The good part about getting delayed several times was a chance to go home twice, and have some family come down here for a visit. Time to get an early dinner.
