This past weekend I took a trip about three hours by bus north of Quito to a town called Otavalo. Each Saturday morning there is an animal market just outside of town where the locals buy and sell a variety of farm animals. There is also a large market in the town itself that mostly sells woven materials that were made by the local indians. In some of the pictures you can see a volcano in the background with the peak hidden behind some clouds.
