Cherry Blossoms
Home | Contents | Bay of Bengal Trip

The Cherry Blossom season has now ended in Japan. Up here where I live, at an elevation of about 2,700 feet, the season lasted only about 2 weeks. After a long, cold, and snowy winter, the Cherry Blossoms (sakura) are some of the first flowers to bloom. When the trees were in full bloom, the pink flowers contrasted sharply against the green and blue of the grass and the sky. It was very nice to see. Pictures cannot truly convey what a special time the season is, but here are a few to look at anyway.
